Here at Home of the Sparrow when you become a volunteer, you’re family!
We are happy you’re here to learn about volunteer opportunities at Home of the Sparrow!
While HOS volunteers do not work directly with our program participants, there are many ways to be involved that directly impact their lives. We are a small staff, so every volunteer effort and contribution enables us to seamlessly provide robust programs and services for the hundreds of women who seek our help annually. We could not accomplish our mission without volunteers!
Please watch the 2-minute video below and review the FAQs as well as the volunteer opportunities. When ready, reach out to Geisa O’Reilly Corbitt, via email gcorbitt@homeofthesparrow.org.

Ways to get involved
Volunteering FAQs
What is the age range for volunteers?
“School age” or age 6 and up.
How will we be notified when there are new volunteer opportunities?
Monthly newsletter and emails. Sign up here.
Do we need special skills to volunteer?
Though we care about the skills you bring to the table and feel passionate about, we do not require special skills to volunteer with us.
Will we work directly with program participants?
For many reasons, including privacy, you will not be working directly with our women and their children. But please know you will have a direct and valuable impact on their lives.
What are Home of the Sparrow’s biggest needs?
Our needs are seasonal, but our biggest need right now is awareness. As volunteers, you are ambassadors for HOS in the Chester County community and can help build awareness for our organization. For a list of current needs please email Geisa Corbitt at gcorbitt@homeofthesparrow.org. Thank you!
What is the time commitment to volunteer?
This depends on the specific volunteer opportunity.
Are there volunteer opportunities on nights and weekends?
Our office operates within normal business hours Monday through Friday. But we understand most people work full-time and schedules are busy! We have many wonderful opportunities to volunteer with Home of the Sparrow that can be done outside of HOS and on a schedule that works best for you!
