Say hello (or hola or ciao) to Anna, our Bilingual Program Coordinator. Did you know she actually speaks three languages, Spanish, Italian, and English? No problem is too big for Anna to tackle, and she brings worldly experience to Home of the Sparrow. She loves to work with women and children, to help them gain housing security and financial stability in Chester County. Originally from Venezuela, she is passionate to help Chester County’s Hispanic Community and to end homelessness in our community.
Experience She Brings to the Table
Anna holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Studies from Universidad Central de Venezuela, the highest-ranking institution in the country. The oldest university in Venezuela, its main campus is considered a masterpiece of urban planning and is a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site. Anna worked at the picturesque Botanical Garden of Caracas as a Public Relations Assistant back in her hometown in Venezuela. She also worked for Easter Seals Southeastern PA, an organization that gives equal opportunities to people with disabilities, as an Interpreter and Translator for Spanish speaking families. She then worked for Maternal and Child Health Consortium as a Family Health Advocate. She also brought her bilingual skills to Kantar Media, where she worked as a Bilingual Spot Editor and Bilingual Spot Classifier.
Fierce, Fun and Fabulous
How does Anna unwind after going above and beyond all day? She’s probably spending time with her family. If she’s not watching movies with them, she might be watching her boys’ soccer games and concerts. Or you might catch her in the kitchen whipping up Italian or Venezuelan food, or baking the best biscotti. True to her Italian roots, she loves pasta. She might even be grooving out to Latin music (she loves Ska and Salsa).
