Since 1994, Home of the Sparrow has helped more than 2,500 of the most vulnerable women and children in our community secure safe, stable housing and learn to live independently. Our diverse core staff receives more than 1,600 calls for help annually and, through our own programs and extensive partnerships with other non-profits and government resources, we are able to address each one. In 2017 alone, Home of the Sparrow served a total of 549 women and children with our eviction prevention, supportive housing, shared housing, WRAP and graduate outreach programs. Our impact is wide-reaching.
Since 2016, HOS is partnering with the Chester County Adult Probation, Parole and Pre-Trial Services Office (APO) to support justice-involved women through the Women’s Re-Entry Assessment Programming Initiative. The program works to provide the knowledge and skills necessary to ensure a smooth transition from incarceration and reduce their risk of re-incarceration.
